Re: Good two factions for multiplayer campaign. Athens and Sparta would probably make a poor choice as they share a region. I think you'd want a faction that is close to you but not your neighbor, so you can support one another but don't expand directly into one anothers territory. Rome and Carthage, Ironically, would probably do well together. Greek States is about the closest to an "essential" dlc for this. It's a bit anachronistic really but the Greeks are a firm favourite for many since the first game. Really though there are no needed DLC, the base game gets updates and new mechanics free so it's not like Civ or the paradox games etc in that regard. Here is a list of all of the Rome 2 DLC released to date: Blood & Gore. Nomadic Tribes Culture Pack. Greek States Culture Pack. Hannibal at the Gates Campaign Pack. Caesar in Gaul Campaign Pack
There is of course another way without having to buy 2 copies, but that's illegal and against the rules, so i'm not gonna go into details about that. #3. BillyWho Sep 3, 2013 @ 8:52am. What a waist of $64 CAD!! #4. Cursed_Gamerz Sep 3, 2013 @ 8:54am. Sadly BillyWho, games have been like this for a long time now.
Hi I bought Rome 2 a couple of weeks ago (first total war game), and I want to get into multiplayer. However, I have a couple of questions for any vets out there willing to help a newbie out. How competitive is multiplayer? Like will I get absolutely destroyed in every lobby?

Multiplayer in this game is very much alive and well and despite it's age it is still highly popular among players, as evidenced by the release of the last few patches and dlc. It is easy to find matches at most times of the day, especially if you host your own lobbies and prefer 1v1s or 2v2s, as 3v3s and 4v4s are harder to fill and often end
